Bundled Up

What a great theme this week at I Heart Faces! It's time to celebrate all that wonderful (or not) snowy cold weather we were having. I love this photo of my 11 year old daughter, Emma. From the paleness of her skin, the rosiness of her cheeks and nose, even to her chapped lips.  It looks like winter to me! She also has such an interesting look on her face...I can't imagine what she was thinking about.

I know that I am only allowed to post one photo but I really NEED some advice about cropping. I'm just not good at it!  I'm posted my cropped photo above as my entry but here is my original.  How would you talented folks crop this photo?  Thanks so much for any help!

  5. Beautiful shot! She has gorgeous eyes and your focus on them is amazing, so I'd include all of her left eye. Otherwise it looks great!

  15. Your Emma is lovely! There is something wonderful about big brown eyes.
I think you could have entered your photo either way. Cropped or not it is GORGEOUS. In my opinion you did a great job cropping. Your crop has moved the focus in to her eyes.
Thanks for your kind comment on my Emma's photo!

  17. Your original was lovely, but your crop is AWESOME!! I love the way it draws you into her stunning brown eyes, but also somehow adds a softness to the overall effect ~ the tones of the background are so subtle and lovely. In cropping the way you have, you have succeeded in removing all their unnecessary distractions (the overhanging leaf, the trunk to her right) without losing ANY of the beauty of the picture. Your crop truly enhances this shot and hence your entry is BEAUTIFUL!
