Miles, My Son

I don't often do paper-type scrapbook pages but I find that I'm liking them more and more lately.  Here's are two created with Little Peanut from LawTeeDa Designs. Available at Enchanted Studio Scraps.
I love the corrugated cardboard background paper!

Journaling reads: Miles, at two you’re captivating, inspiring and exuberant, but you’re also stubborn, cranky, pesky and exasperating. Perhaps that's why the year between two and three is both the best of times and the worst of times. Either way, I’m enjoying the adventure and I love you with all of my Mommy heart!

Good Morning Sunshine!

First of all, I had so much fun working with this kit, Good Morning Sunshine. (from Chaos Lounge and Design by Tina at ESS here Good Morning Sunshine )
It really put me in the Springtime mood! Here are my two pages.

Dramatic Black and White

This week at I Heart faces they are looking for B&W photos that are dramatic, sensational or moody. Converting to black and white is something that I definitely need to work on. I took this photo of Emma last week...here it is!

One Little Duck...

When I saw this gorgeous kit, Something Beautiful After the Rain from By Becca... I knew I had to use a pic of Miles in his (much-hated) duck costume!  I also knew I had to include a portion of the lyrics from "Five Little Ducks" because each of my babies has loved that song, especially Jessica, who is about to become a Mommy herself.

Fix-it Friday...Abigail

This week's photo comes from Natalie P. It's her adorable daughter, Abigail.
I was almost too busy to play this morning but then I remembered that I had installed all of Pioneer Woman's new PSE actions, yesterday...so I had to make the time to fiddle with them! http://thepioneerwoman.com/photography/

Angles!

Angles are the theme this week at I Heart Faces.  I only have a sec to post my entry but here's my Miles at a funny angle! He's upside down and I'm on the ground...that's angles enough for me!

Constructive Feedback Friday!

I Heart Faces will not be having Fix-It Friday this week. It will be Constructive Feedback Friday...a time when beginner photographers can enter a photo to receive feedback on it. I'm so excited because I definitely qualify as a beginner! LOL

I took a bunch of photos this day and had problems with them all.  They were dark and not in focus totally...but he was cute and the setting was gorgeous!  I really appreciate any help I can get with how I could have taken this pic better and how I should edit to make it usable.

My attempts at fixing this:

Info:
I used PSE6 to edit this photo.
Shutter speed: 1/200
shutter priority
f/14
ISO 400
focal length: 30mm

I don't know if this is allowed, but if anyone would like to edit this photo and post a link to your edit...please feel free! I could learn a lot from that.
Edited to add a few more fixes that I worked on today and to say that I have already learned so much from this!  Thanks to all of you who are stopping by!
New color edit...still off though.

And a chocolately black and white.  Do you think this is too high contrast?

Bundled Up

What a great theme this week at I Heart Faces! It's time to celebrate all that wonderful (or not) snowy cold weather we were having. I love this photo of my 11 year old daughter, Emma. From the paleness of her skin, the rosiness of her cheeks and nose, even to her chapped lips.  It looks like winter to me! She also has such an interesting look on her face...I can't imagine what she was thinking about.

Visit

to see Bundled Up done right!

I know that I am only allowed to post one photo but I really NEED some advice about cropping. I'm just not good at it!  I'm posted my cropped photo above as my entry but here is my original.  How would you talented folks crop this photo?  Thanks so much for any help!

Pinball Cutie

This weeks Fix It Friday photo is from Amy Pinney. Her daughter is so adorable...what cute lips!  But you can see how very dark this photo is.  I wasn't sure how well I could do with this but in the end...I like my fixes, at least you can see her.  Playing with this pic was a good distraction from worrying about the fact that the transmission went out on my van yesterday!

Jessica's Baby Shower

This is for Jessica, to commemorate her baby shower. I wasn't sure that I could pull off throwing a baby shower but heck, I really didn't think I'd live through throwing her wedding either! But I did...and I'm happy that I accomplished what I set out to do. I just don't want to host another big shindig for a long time! Anyway, I think the shower went well. There was a good turnout. The food was good and Jess got some great presents and now she's all set for the arrival of Audrey Joan Workman!

Jumping Jack

Well...I've made myself a promise that I would participate at I Heart Faces as much as possible. Even though I'm nowhere near a pro, even though my kids will NOT let me get a good pic of them lately, even though the weather has been too horrible to go outside and take pics with good light! I truly believe that I Heart Faces is really going to help me grow in regard to my photography.  This weeks theme is "Jump For Joy".  Going through photos, I realized that I have a lot of pics of my step-son, Jack, jumping.  That kid just Loves an action shot!  This photo is of Jack jumping off of a swing.

Please follow this link to see so many wonderful "jumping" pics at

I used this photo in one of my digital scrapbooking layouts. (something that I am more confident of my abilities in than photography! LOL) Here's a link to that layout.

Cherish This

Another layout for Jess, LJ and Audrey.  The Journaling reads:  Cherish this moment of waiting. Never forget the expectant anxious joy, the act of loving someone with all your heart...that you have never met. Know that she loves you already, too. She knows the sound of your voices and soon she’ll know the touch of your caring hands. February 2010

Outtakes!

The theme for this weeks photo challenge at I Heart Faces is Hilarious Outtakes.  Now, honestly, I don't have "outtakes" because I don't really have photo shoots. But these are some funny family snapshots I've taken.  Some of them are taken with my old point and shoot camera so quality is not what I was going for this week! Head on over to I Heart Faces to see lots of Hilarious Outtakes!

My oldest daughter, Jessica is always handy for a silly face in a photo!

Emma being a goofball and Chloe looking annoyed!

Miles putting hats on Grandpa's head.

Silly sisters!

Jack and his friend in funny balloon hats.
